Journeys From Sorrow To Joy
Written for cancer patients, caregivers and loved ones, The Poet’s Cancer is a powerful anthology of poetry. Like the wefts and warps of a well woven cloth, these poems link the painful and emotional experiences of suffering, uncertainty and anxiety with real, unidealized expectations for knowledge, hope, and joy.
The collection examines larger issues of meaning and purpose, frequently viewed through theological and metaphorical perspectives, rather than concentrating only on grief or suffering. The Poet’s Cancer explores the genuine potential of finding meaning and purpose among the hardship, suffering and uncertainty of a cancer journey through poetry reflections that range from sadness to the goodness of God.
Steve Hefta is an aspiring poet and artist. He is also a Stage IV cancer survivor who has found meaning and purpose while experiencing sorrow, suffering and joy in his cancer journey. In poems that tell the story (a universal story for many), he expresses real, deeply moving and raw emotions inviting others on similar journeys to walk with him—or let him walk with them.

When cancer changes everything… how do you hold onto hope? The Poet’s Cancer is not just a book—it’s a companion through fear, faith, and healing. Written from real experience, these poems give voice to what so many feel but cannot say.
